  5 killer tips to make your website sell!

The internet is a powerful tool that can help you sell more of your products and services than ever before. If you want to increase your current website sales but dont know where to start, here are 5 killer tips to get you started:

1. Ive said it before and i'll say it again and again, because its so important - focus, focus, focus! Be clear about what you want to achieve with your website, what you are going to offer and how you are going to do it. When done well, this is clearly visible and does increase sales. Translate this onto your website and see the results.

2. Clean up your website. You wouldnt believe how many sites just need a good old fashioned clean out to improve them. Remove any and all junk. Remove any text, images, sections, gizmo's, animations, ads, etc., that are out of date or serving no useful purpose. Be strict! This will give your website a certain clarity. Your potential customers will clearly see what you want them to see and read.

3. Improve the tone of your written content. Make it reflect a friendly, welcoming tone and not impersonal corporate speak. This will make your potential customers relaxed and feel welcome, and therefore comfortable and willing to learn about your company and its products and services. Of course that will also put them in an informed position and more likely to buy from you.

4. Add an ezine sign-up (or other proposition) to capture the contact details of your website visitor's, so that you can contect them later with your sales offer/pitch. In the case of an ezine, you can do this regularly within your ezine. Its much more effective to sell to potential customers who are already interested in your products and services. They are already 'warm', all you have to do is make the sale.

5. Give potential and existing customers a reason to come back to your website. Add something valuable and new to bring them back. A new informative buying guide, article, etc. This will increase your website visitor numbers and the probability to sell to them at some stage in the future. It will also make you stand out in their minds above your competitors. A significant advantage.
